Delicious lentil soup will appeal to all members of the family.
In Ukraine, lentils are “rooted”: soups, cereals, mashed potatoes, kissel, pastries, salads, side dishes and pizza filling – all these dishes are usually ours. The history of Kievan Rus dates back to the first half of the 15th century.
Although the true homeland of this grain is Southwest Asia. Lentil fossils have been found in prehistoric lakes in Switzerland and ancient Egypt. A famous painting depicting the tomb of Thebes Rameses 3 shows Pharaoh’s bakery and a baker standing next to two baskets full of lentils. The Egyptians put a loaf of bread in the tomb of a man who had a meal, both on earth and after death.
Lentils are not only easy but also very healthy. It does not accumulate nitrates, toxins and radioonuclear, so it can be considered an environmentally friendly product. In addition, the high content of vitamins A and B as well as iron and phosphorus foods make it not only delicious but also healthy.
One of the distinguishing features and benefits of other grains is their ability to cook smoothly in a short time. If it is necessary to soak the beans before cooking (and if desired), then the lentils will be ready in 15-20 minutes after the boil begins.

We take 200 grams of lentils for 2 liters of water. Rinse the nuts thoroughly and place in a saucepan.
While the water is boiling, chop the onions, carrots, and potatoes (can be cut into cubes or mashed). After boiling, put the vegetables in a saucepan, add a little salt and cook for 15-20 minutes.
A few minutes before the end of cooking, add your favorite spices to the soup (I only manage black pepper) and place the laurel leaves before covering the pan with a lid and … make our soup a little sweaty. After ten to fifteen minutes, open the lid, taste the divine scent, and you can begin your meal.
